Robert L. "Bob" Myers, 77 of New London, died Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Good Shepherd Home in Ashland. Born on June 11, 1947 in Oberlin, he was the son of the late Simon and Mildred "Betty" (nee Waite) Myers. Bob grew up in Spencer and was a 1965 graduate of Black River High School. He was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam.
For 44 years, Bob worked for Lorain Median Rural Electric, working his way from a lineman to a supervisor and mapping. He was an avid shooter and had been a member of the NRA as well as the Fitchville Conservation League. Bob loved spending time outdoors, shooting photographs, camping, fishing, and boating. He developed an interest in computers early on and would build his own. Bob was a talented guitarist and played in a number of bands from high school into adulthood. Most of all Bob cherished time with his family, hosting gatherings where he would smoke a perfect brisket, or prime rib.
